There's a notice from the planning department on the gate near the bus stop; it says that the part of the public footpath that links Stephenson Way to Highfield Spring is going to be closed for 6 months. I think this is so the new road network can be constructed, and of course the new houses will be built in the foreseeable future too. The notice says from September 6th but it was still useable today. I'm not sure if the bus company have any plans to create a temporary bus stop nearer to another access route but I will be getting in touch with them to ask - this path closure means the Highfield Spring bus stop is no longer easy to access, and the stops before and after this one are a bit of a trek for me and my young son.
Just don't be surprised if you get off the bus and find yourself having to circle back to the roundabout or up to the Winter Green to get on to the estate! Or, perhaps more frustratingly, if you go to catch the bus and watch it carry on down the road while you have to walk the long way round to get to the stop!!

Why on earth did they move it 5 metres a month ago if they're only going to close it. They don't make much sense sometimes
