One of the things raised last night from Duncan's presentation and as previously rumoured on here somewhere (sorry couldn't find it), the piece of land between High Field Spring and Barratt's "The Edge" phase has been sold to Harron Homes (yay) with development earmarked to begin around September this year, once planning permission is approved.
What do people think about yet more Harron Homes? Can they cope? Will they have learned any lessons from previous cock ups or are we to expect more of the same?

It was me that mentioned it, I emailed Duncan a few months ago he said they were in negotiation with a few developers for that piece of land and building would start in the autumn, so it appears to tie up. (That was early in the year)
My house overlooks that piece of land, and can't say I'm looking forward to the noise and disruption as I work from home at the moment, but at the same time there doesn't seem to be much evidence that Harron develop apartment blocks so fingers crossed it stays that way.

Apologies Matt, didn't meant to duplicate posts and I wasn't sure it was widely known so thought I'd put something up.

Don't apologise, as I say they were just in negotiation at the time I contacted them. Therefore call yours an 'update' as opposed to a 'duplication'. They are removing the skips off that piece of land as we speak as well, so I'm guessing they are going to start prepping the land soon.

Hi from last night they are talking about a couple of higher (3 story I think he said) buildings near the entrance to the estate but otherwise much like elsewhere on the estate it will mainly be 2 story buildings. He also said he expected planning permission to go in by May so they could start work later this year. We also live on the edge so will be looking out for news!

We live on the edge and it will be interesting to see what goes on with the stream that runs down the path after every bit of rain we get and into the gulleys that have been made. Judging by what photographer Hayley posted about the drainage in their garden, I'm thinking someone might get their own unique water feature!

Think Harron are just greedy!! Building more and more and can't even keep up and sort the ones out that they've built.
I see Barratts and TW never have as many problems as what Harron have.
Harron shouldn't be allowed to build anymore unless the phases they are already on with are finished off. It's been one thing after another and even now Harron aren't replying to phone calls or emails but sneakily drive down the street when they think no one is about and watching, cowardly. It's very wrong that they should gain anymore contracts without seeing to the customers they already have. If anyone should get anymore contracts it should be Barratts, TW or a new builder. xxx

There are diggers on that land today. Plus they have moved the skips that were on there.

One good thing about this plot is that looking at the latest version of the masterplan there is a fairly large area designated as a 'green space'. Hopefully this will finally provide some more permanent play type facilities. However its not designated as a 'strategic play' zone, whatever that means

I've noticed they've taken the original skips away, and have now placed some more in the middle of the land. Hoping there's no apartments, we're opposite too. Not looking forward to the noise etc, but we knew it was coming I guess.

Haron is building houses in front of my house. Watching their progress is one of our household activities Before went to the meeting: since January back from holiday, (the plot is only has few units on foundation before Xmas holiday, I have photos), and up till today, 2 houses already moved in, another 6 are nearly completed, and at least 8 are already above 1 floor(some on roof now). At least 5 already got foundation level completed. Fast, and too fast they built compared to barratt who only finished 7 units (before Xmas holiday all already completed 2 floors but without roof). They work even Saturday and Sunday. And usually still can hear someone working till 8pm. As they built extremely fast, that's why I'm worry and took the photos from time to time. And they are terrible on their planning. All the detached houses have small space of parking area, small road.. They seems to squeeze as much as houses they can in that plot. Although mostly detached houses, however, I can foresee much of off road parking in the future. Unlike barratt offer huge road for residents to park off road, Harron didn't do that and the road are really small. To be honest, I'm concern about the quality of the edge. So,now I understand why they rush the building the plot opposite me... yes, I agree, they are greedy and only care for profit, not the quality like barratt has offered and I can see why now! God bless those who buy from haron homes.

Very greedy, like I say ours was built from scratch in 3 months and the amount of problems we've had. Where as barratts are still on with building theirs from when they started on ours so 7 months on and barratts are still building, they have to be better quality than Harron. Just can see how Harron can justify building more when people still have problems xx
