Has anyone else had trouble with the Zanussi built in appliances? Our dishwasher has now broken for the 2nd time, a shelf in the fridge has broken this morning and I'm not happy with the washing machine as a full load takes 2 hours 20 mins to do. We've been in our house nearly a year now but wouldn't expect things to be breaking this early!

We've not had any serious trouble yet but I expect it to happen eventually. I saw the appliances in the show homes and it was the major reason I did not get any of Harron's extra appliances. I only have the oven and cooker from Zanussi and quite frankly they are cheap rubbish. I lived in a rented flat before and the Siemens appliances I had before looked and performed much better than my current stuff.
The 5 hob cooker is just poorly designed meaning that pots are unstable and the oven is totally unpredictable. Just as a test, try to cook a fresh pizza in the oven at the recommended temperature and time. It will be burnt for sure. I usually have to knock 20-40 degrees off the recommended temp. Makes roasting and baking incredibly difficult to judge. You can't follow any recipe in a cookbook! (or I'm just a terrible cook! :-C )

We moved into our new house on Friday and by Tuesday, the oven was broken. I have bought many appliances over the last 28 years and have never had one break within 4 days, having only been used twice. Harron want nothing to do with it so I have to wait until next Thursday for zanussi to come and repair it. I bought a double oven as I cook quite a lot and I'm used to having 2 ovens. Unfortunately the top oven came with only a grill pan (no shelf) and the bottom oven came with just the one shelf. I might as well have had a single oven for all the use that is. I feel really disappointed as I don't think the extra money we paid was worth it.

We had to have a fan chnaged on the oven within a couple of months of moving in and it still makes a very loud noise when at temperature. Our fridge contantly makes loud whirling and gurgling noises and was sending our milksour as the back panel was warm. Theres a switch to turn that off that we didnt know about. Ive been very dissapointed with the appliances and glad i didnt pay for any to be upgraded as i will change them as soon as we can justify if they dont break before.

We have the same oven and aren't overly impressed, it's a pig to clean and we had to buy extra shelves from Zanussi to make having two ovens worthwhile. The only thing I like is that with the upgraded wiring supply I can replace it with another double oven from a better brand when the time comes.

I'm annoyed we spent extra on appliances now, we've always had Bosch and been very happy so as soon as my hubby will let me I'll be switching back : ) I though Zanussi was a good brand but I'm not impressed at all!

The integrated appliances from Harron are definitley on the budget end of the scale ... Our oven broke within a few months ... Zanussi came out to fix ...

When we turn the fan on (bottom oven), it makes an here sous clanking noise as though the fan blades are catching on the back panel. When I registered it, I was asked if I would like to take out an extended warranty. I said no thank you as when it dies I will replace it with a decent oven. I was then asked why I didn't want the warranty! So does that mean we got the correct shelving then? My last zanussi double oven was brilliant and still working 9 years later so I had no qualms about buying this one. It looks like they have deteriorated over the last few years.

I've had no issues with the dishwasher, fridge-freezer, or double oven. All work spot on so far.
5 burner hob is unstable as previously mentioned so have to be careful.... It's the one negative
Double oven is fan assisted. So you do need to knock 20-40 degrees off instructions... That's standard advice, no issues at all when baking etc... We have 3 trays and a grill pan.
Ps not defending zanussi against better brands, I know it's not the market leader, just being honest about our experiences, and to be fair to Harron, I didn't think I paid market leading prices (fitting etc included) when I upgraded so didn't feel shortchanged

Haha I did mean 20-40 degrees off the fan assisted instructions. I'm not that bad!

We don't have any issues with our zanussi oven
All cooking instructions are a guideline calculated on the average oven. If your oven is more efficient than the average, I would not complain.
I don't think I have ever taken notice of what the packet says, I just take the food out the oven once it looks cooked and if I have to wait less time for my pizza, even better :-)
Our other appliances work perfectly fine as well, although they are Electrolux, but Electrolux, zanussi, AEG etc are all part of the same group anyway.

I appreciate what you are trying to say but that is rubbish! A good oven will run at the temperature that you set it to. If I set it to 200 degrees C I expect it to work at that temperature. I am perfectly able to adapt to the complexities of reducing the cooking times or temperature. I spent 5 years at medical school, 8 years training as a doctor, I'm well versed in late night pizza cooking! :-D

its not exactly an exact science is it really, just turn a knob and line a number with a little dot. What if the little sticker on the knob is just not stuck on the right place? it might be a few angular degrees out? which would result in a temperature degree error
Have you measured the output of the Oven? if you want I can provide some highly accurate measurement equipment and an engineer for the day to calibrate the temperature dial to ensure that 200°C on the dial is 200°C inside the oven???

Yeah but that's exactly my point. A quality piece of equipment wouldn't have the dial and lines in the wrong place. My previous oven and indeed my microwave that has an oven function is digital and I never doubted the temperature it was set at.
Anyway, this is a pointless disagreement. The oven functions adequately. It hasn't broken for me. I just don't think it's a quality piece of equipment given prior experiences. I've only had it three months though so only time will tell if I'm correct or not. I would certainly agree that I may be premature in my assessment.
