Hi all...
Just wanted to ask if there are any runners about who would like to take part in a fun event that will be taking place on the 10th August which will coincide with the Waverley gala day?
I'm organising the event with the help of the Handsworth road hogs and Harworth estates. It will be an easy 5k (ish) run/jog/walk around the top side of the Waverley fields (down to the lakes) and back.
Looking like an entry fee of £3 each (registration will be on the day of the event) and hoping to give away medals for finishers. Any money raised over the cost of organising the run will be given to charity.
More info to follow shortly, but just wanted to let people know that this is coming up to give you time to get your legs into gear :-)
On an estate like this there must be loads of 'jogger types'.... Please feel free to comment if you're interested in taking part.
Ps: we will make sure that the winter green bar is open by the time the run is finished :-)

Hi Paul,
Assuming I'm free that weekend then I'd be up for it :-D
Cheers

Oh I'm still going to be involved, didn't mean it like that, just not sure as to what I'll be doing, when. If I'm needed to be setting stuff up at the time of the run then obviously I'll not be able to do it.

Thanks Davsur...
Our aim this year (with the short notice) is to get 50 people, and then next year we could look at something a little more formal, with potentially an extra distance 'trail run' option that goes over round treeton dyke and through the woods ;-)

Just a quick update on the run. Things are slowly getting sorted and it looks like we are already on target to reach the goal of having 50 people taking part this year! It looks like the start time wil be 11am (registration on the day at teh Wintergreen pub from 10am) so please put this in your diary. I also wanted to say a big thank you to the Handsworth Roadhogs for helping to arrange the event and making it possible. If you're a new waverley resident and are looking to join a local, friendly running club, i'm sure the roadhogs would love to hear from you www.handsworthroadhogs.co.uk/

Hi, I do run and would love to take part but am taking my little girl to see In the Night Garden live that day. Shame as I run round here regularly
