Sorry to hear you've lost the sale of your new home, I can imagine it's emotional. I hope it works out well for you. I answer to your question I can't imagine why you'd be liable for estate agency fees if the agreement was a part exchange.

Yes I thought that I've not heard anything about that so far but they are trying to keep the money I paid in extras... Which I will be going to a small claims court about.

No I stopped my exchange because the first mortgage I went for they downvalued the house. So then I had to find another mortgage which again took time to sort. They also wanted me to complete on a specific date.. And I explained that due to work commitments I could not complete on that date, I could however complete on the Monday which was 5 days later. This was not allowed. And I heard next day that they had cancelled. They also wanted me to complete before I had seen the property. And this is against the consumer code. I should be able to have a good look round the property and do all the snagging required before finalising the sale. Their attitude to my home visit was "Regarding the viewing of your home I fully understand you need to see your home and we want to show it to you as I am sure you will be extremely happy, again I can confirm that we can let you have access through site as they work earlier than sales, you would be able to see your home and how lovely it is prior to completing even if this is only a short visit initially in order to accommodate your work commitments." They are at catcliffe and my work day was in Rotherham on that date so am expected to take a detour in the early hours to go see my new home.. With no snagging... I don't think so. Maybe you think am being unreasonable but I'm a pharmacist I can't be late for work as I'm responsible for sales and dispensing and also the rules are am not allowed more than an hour out of the pharmacy two at the most. So they expected me to leave work to complete the sale. I told them umpteen times in emails and through solicitors that I could not complete on this date. I wasn't even asked when I could complete I was told it would be that date.

Please don't think am being a drama queen as am the most laid back person in the world... But I have to say that Harron is the worst company I've ever dealt with. It hasn't put me off though. I'm looking to buy another with either Taylor wimpey at this site or in wentworth. Or strata further out in Rotherham.

Count it as a lucky escape. There a disgrace of a company wish I'd never bought with them but it's to late for that. They don't take the customers needs or care into account at all. Only bothered about meeting deadlines so they can get a bonus and then leave your house in a mess then when fixing it just bodge it back together.

Hi Mandymac69, I am really sorry to hear about your sale not going ahead.I have also purchased from harron homes and really worried about the house purchase with hàrròn homes. My current house which i part exchanged is just about 5 years old and was build by Barratts, I must admit from purchase to date I hardly had any issues with them, plus we had 5 years of warranty cover. Also I remember their sales staff was really polite and importantly very professional.I seriously missed that attitude and professionalism here at harron homes.

You were very lucky, knowing what I know I'd have bought one with Barratts or TW on Waverley. Four months in and we are still without Internet due to Harrons fault, Our hallway still needs plastering and painting no one has been yet, garage still flooding and floor needs sorting, front garden needs drainage as that floods badly and various bits and bobs. Four month in we still haven't got a complete house. As well as that we have gone to the highest person possible in Harron and their attitude gets worse the higher up you go. No one is replying to phone calls or emails at all. I'm really upset about it all, that much that they have messed up on a serious issue. It doesnt get any better.
All in all Harron are the worst company ever, I do love the house and absolutely love the area and neighbours, brilliant for kids to grow up on here. But Harron are a disgrace. xx
