Hello If you've only spent £90 cancel it! I can't warn people enough. I will say one good thing though, everyone around Waverley is so lovely

I can only go on the experience I've had so far and what I have heard of our neighbours and Harron are horrendous. The builds have been poor and very ruff. They've made some very big mistakes, bodged it and then tried getting away with it and the only bloke who was a good help has just left the site. I've had to take two unpaid days of work so far and continuously been emailing and phoning to get a major problem I have sorted. They also left our appliances out and tried fobbing us off with cheaper because they told us they couldn't get the other ones and it was my girlfriend and myself that had to point this out. They didn't even notice. The one positive note I could say is on Monday the site man who's left was really helpful and he got me most things I needed sorting that day.
It's not just Waverley where Harron have these problems there's other sites exactly the same. I would do some research before following on any further.

Nevous now lol We love our house and hardly had any problems, but we we are in an earlier phase. I suppose you pay your money and you take your chance!!! That might sound like a bit of a throw away comment, but I honestly think it's true. The fixtures and fittings are really good with a Harron Home, and if you get a good build, it's the best home you could wish for. However, if you get a 'bad' build (trying not to use four letter words) then you might regret it. If you like to gamble on black or red on the roulette table (50/50), then Harron might be the builder for you!

Wow! Are you not reading what all the latest customers who have moved in have out. Would you walk into the casino and put 250000 on red or black? I'm not going to tell anyone to not purchase a Harron home because that's up to them but I feel that Harron shouldn't be getting away with what they are doing. Theme seems to be the same with what I've read through the forum, the early phases sound like they did a brilliant job and the latest phases have been way below standard.

I noticed on Monday when I was there a couple of houses had gone back on the market, I'm sure one was a Hanley. Give the sales office a call or drop in and see if they will let you have a look round it.

Just to throw my 10p in. We are on the latest phase and we have had nowhere near the problems people on here are mentioning. Crappy painting, missing kitchen cabinets and a few little things but apart from that nothing major. While the experience wasn't the best and HH were pretty rubbish. We love the community, our neighbours and our house. We have no regrets what so ever!

Hi Simon
We purchased a Hebden on Lescar Road and we moved in December 23rd 2015. Although there are lots of comments relating to the horrific experiences that people have had I would just like to say that although our house was rushed to get finished before Christmas to make their annual figures, we had some cosmetic issues like the bathroom was tiled wrong, the kitchen was missing a cupboard and shoddy paint work and the garden has some of the leftover builders crap still in it, we love the house and although we have had minor issues, we don't regret it. These are all slowly being resolved.
The thing is you need to keep giving Harron a prod to get the work done as they have taken on far too much work and they don't have enough people to effectively manage the workload. Not defending them at all as for the amount of money you spend on these houses you do not get the finish you expect from a new home.
If you want to take a look around a finished house you are welcome to come and have a look around ours, don't take the finish in the showrooms as the finish you get as it is miles off and don't go into any houses completed by Harron which are still up for sale as I doubt these are a true reflection of what you will get.
If you're interested just drop me a PM.
Cheers Gemma

Hi Simon, We have a Harron home in the first phase and love our house. We had some minor issues which were all sorted within a reasonable timeframe, the worst being the drainage in the back garden. Some of the painting was below par but since we were always planning on putting our own touch on the house it never really bothered us. Being honest, if I were you, I'd probably have been put off by all the negative comments regarding Harron Homes and I'd be looking at Barratt and Taylor Wimpey, or an alternative development (that's not meant to sound like I don't want you here ). But, since you're committed, or at least put a deposit down, just remember that folk tend to complain a lot more than praise. Look how many posts there are praising TW & Barratt. Very few. So the chances are there are more people living in a Harron Home that are satisfied than those who aren't. Good luck

We are planning on putting our touch on it so cosmetic stuff doesn't really bother us. Everything seems ok to us just a bit sceptical after seeing this forum.

Hopefully because that strip is a lot smaller site that the other one, the site manager is taking a bit more care in the builds than the other seems to be. He certainly seems organised.

I've just been and spoke to them and they said there well ahead of schedule so there taking there time and it will definitely be ready in June. They admitted they did have some problems with some of the houses
